Kapha the Sentimental

Kapha is Earth. Earth is substance.

Kapha provides staunchness. At times it is obstinate. It knows a thing or two about staying its ground.

Kapha gives structure.

It is watery emotion. On the flip side, Kapha lusts.

Kapha is reliable.

It know loyalty.

Kapha is shy. It has friends, though.

Kapha preserves. It brings together.

Kapha is bulk. It can be block-headed. Kapha is dull.

Mostly, though, it shows compassion. It is sympathetic towards the pain of others. Kapha is soft and wet. It is also cold.

Kapha is modest. It listens to elders.

Kapha lubricatres.

Let it get too comfortable, and it will set up camp, to coolly enjoy your comfortable hospitality, possibly forever, without wanting to move a limb.

Kapha needs to be kept on its toes, so it can become slim and trim. Kapha has a tendency to put on. Kapha nourishes.

Kapha loves being pampered. Cut the pampering to wake Kapha up to life.

Kapha doesn’t forget. It is quite like the elephant, isn’t it? Moves slowly. Comes down with a bang when enraged beyond control, though this is a once in a blue-moon thingie. Slow to activate.

Kapha prepares its playing field well. It then needs activation to start playing. Once activated, there’s no stopping the roll of Kapha. Unless its out of breath and stops for a bite.

Kapha likes to accumulate. Greed lurks.

Kapha is steady.

Kapha doesn’t like change. Adaptation to new surroundings is an issue. Kapha likes to dig in, and finds it strenuous and compelling to check out.

Kapha is happy at home, the nostalgic fellow.

Relevance

Seriously?

Are we still discussing relevance.

Many pockets are not discussing relevance. They don’t feel the need. They realize the value.

New pockets are springing up, that are studying and practising Ayurveda with zeal and success.

Old pockets are lethargic, but they don’t doubt.

Some pockets discuss relevance. They are concerned about the revenues of their own lobbies.

People, let’s realize overlap.

Meaning, seriously, what’s the overlap here?

This is deep Kalyuga, remember. As deep as it gets.

Life’s in the fast track.

It’s a time for emergencies.

Thus there will always be ample room for allopathic medicine. And then some.

Lobbies can make good money.

That’s not the problem.

The problem is, they want more money.

More.

And more.

Nothing’s good enough.

In deep Kalyuga, greed rots us from the inside.

Therefore, there’s a war against other niche segments, who might enjoy just about a small single digit percentage of the market in the first place.

Lobbies want even those single digits.

That’s still not it, though. The core worry is something bigger.

Lobbies are worried, that one day, those single digits might grow to double digits.

They want to nip in the bud.

They discredit.

They debate relevance.

They highlight testing, heavy-metals and what-have-you.

They want Ayurveda thrown out.

However, there is a part of society that does not live from emergency to emergency.

People have started to believe in avoidance, pre-empting and prophylaxis.

People have started to cleanse from within.

People have started defining disease from its nacscent stage and not its symptom stage.

In a world full of toxicity, Ayurveda is relevant like never before.
